Vacancies generally fall into one of the following categories:

    Solicitors

At Hutton’s all fee earners should have in addition to a sound academic background, detailed knowledge of the area of law in which they practice; people skills ,common sense and integrity. It is important that our fee earners have empathy in dealing with clients. Hutton’s specialise in certain areas of the law and these specialisms are described elsewhere in the web site under the heading of “legal services”.

Graduates who have obtained a first or upper-second class honours degree and have completed their year at law school having achieved the Legal Practice Course qualification are eligible for consideration here.

Again, the general criteria for solicitor fee earners (see above) apply.of enthusiasm and professional integrity apply. Successful candidates will join a paralegal programme of between 3 and 12 months designed to assess their potential and give both parties an opportunity to determine each others suitability. On successfully completing the paralegal period and being retained, the firm might offer a two-year trainee solicitor contract. The contract will provide training in agreed areas of law, with a particular emphasis on one departmental area where the candidate has shown a special ability and interest.

    Legal Secretaries

Hutton’s considers each candidate on their merits. Past experience of working as a legal secretary is usually an advantage.
